An EcoLon® Success Story: Reprotone Inc.

12/16/2009

Greatness is not always measured in size.  Sometimes, you come across people who are simply great by nature.  This was the case when Bob Dastou and Kurt Wagoner from Wellman were visiting RC Molding, who introduced them to Bill and James Humphrey, two musicians. Since Kurt was also a musician, they had a common bond.  They conspired to mold a unique plastic for guitar picks, using copper filled EcoLon®. Magic!!!  The picks molded with no issues and Kurt, James and Bill all loved the unique sound they produced.  Bob Dastou has been passing out picks to all his friends who play. The added weight of the copper picks also seems to be an advantage. This led to Bill and James starting a new company called "Reprotone". Talk about a uniquely American Success Story!!!

Below is a letter we received from Bill and James that we thought was just GREAT!!! Here is part of what "Willie and JP" have to say:  These picks were made in the USA with reprocessed raw materials.  When we say made in the "USA", we mean that the part and tooling design, the manufacture of the injection molds, the raw material reprocessing, and the final molding of the picks were all done in the United States.  We feel this is important because any Nylon or PET that we can recycle keeps plastic out of landfills...  WHAT IS NOT TO LOVE!!!

We appreciate all of our customers, big and small. We appreciate their design expertise, their quality manufacturing process, their marketing prowess....But this past week, two classic entrepreneurs really touch us. We salute our friends at Reprotone, and are honored to be supporting them in the creation of their own EcoLon® Success Story
