Owens Corning Force Majeure: Glass Fiber Shortage

We received notification of a major supply problem with glass fiber from Owens Corning.  The notification letter regarding the equipment failure and supply shortage is attached.  Fortunately, we have been able to make provisions such that we will be able to continue to meet all of our supply commitments.  We appreciate that our customers could understandably be concerned about this, so we wanted to reach out to you, so you heard from us directly.

On a related note, we are also seeing some supply tightening with virgin and PIR nylon, particularly 66 nylon.  Again, we have made provisions such that we will be able to meet our production commitments to all of our customers.  We continue to encourage our customers to consider our EcoLon® products, where we have a much greater degree of control over the supply and subsequent cost of nylon, which, as you know, comes from post consumer carpet, which we recycle through our proprietary manufacturing processes.  Taking advantage of our ability to more directly control our post consumer nylon feedstock can provide you with a more stable source of supply, not to mention the cost, quality and environmental benefits of EcoLon®.  Please call us to discuss how we can help you in creating another EcoLon® success story.
