A combination of perfectly round solid glass spheres and standard glass fibers are added to thermoplastic polyamide 66 to produce a molding compound that features the typical high stiffness, tensile and compressive strength found in standard glass filled grades but with improved dimensional stability.
40% loadings are common for the combined reinforcement additive. The addition of glass spheres interrupts the glass fiber orientation which results in more uniform shrinkage in both the flow and transverse directions and therefore reduces the tendency for part warpage often associated with standard glass fiber filled grades.
