Glass Sphere Reinforced Nylon 66

40-50 micron solid glass spheres are added to thermoplastic nylon 66 for injection molding grades that feature high compressive strength. 25-40% loadings are common which produce molded parts with good dimensional stability and roundness. The addition of glass spheres reduces the differential shrinkage often associated with standard glass fiber reinforcement which results in reduced warpage in the molded part.

Hollow glass beads are added to nylon 66 to reduce the specific gravity of the molding compound making the material suitable for float type applications where good chemical resistance is required.
